Current Small Groups
Leadership Development Group
October 13th at 7:00 PM, this six-week group will help you better
understand your gifting and calling in Christ. Using a simple
inventory of APEST gifts, the goal for the group is to help you lean
into your personal strengths for faithful living.
This group will also
serve as an introduction to membership at Hicks for those who
seek to become members.

David Jeremiah Book Study
Please join Walt & Lori Kratzer and Aaron & Jolene Cidor for a new small group beginning October 13th from 6-7pm in the Chapel area. We will begin with Dr. David Jeremiah’s newest study, “Where Do We Go From Here?”
In this study, Dr. David Jeremiah examines ten phenomena happening in our world today that prove tomorrow’s prophecies foreshadow the problems we are currently experiencing in our world.
Genesis Classroom, Hicks UMC
No Strings Attached
This group aims to continue the work of the late George DePetro and his mission to serve the homeless and underprivileged members of our communities. The group is open to all.

Women's Bible Study
Beginning on Saturday, Sept 18th, from 9:30-11:30 and running until Saturday, Nov 20th. We will be doing the study “Believing God” by Beth Moore. Books are $16 and will be ordered by Sept 10th. Please sign up at the Welcome Desk, or get in touch with Kelly Hartman at email@example.com or 814-502-9551.
All women are encouraged to attend and learn how to transform their faith from just believing IN God to BELIEVING GOD!
Downstairs Classroom, Hicks UMC
The Kitchen Class is not a class of kitchen help workers. Rather, this is a men's and women's class open to any adult. The class alternates between studies by popular authors such as Adam Hamilton, Max Lucado, Mike Slaughter and James Moore and studies of individual books of the Bible or subjects that cross over multiple Bible books.
What do Small Groups Do?
Small groups provide an environment for you to grow in your relationship with God and others. Most people who have experienced a Small Group will say that the greatest benefit is the close friendships that develop and continue to this day.
What if I can’t come every week?
Everyone has a busy plate in life with many demands and little time to commit to something else - which is exactly the reason we need to be in a small group together! We all need a place to belong and work through the issues of life. Even if you can’t commit to coming each week, consider committing to attending when you can. Small groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life, so even if you can’t attend every single meeting, there is still great value in joining a group.
If you have any questions or would like additional information about our Small Groups, contact us. We would love to help you find the right group to fit your needs.
